Engagement

How the engagement runs

  1. Valuation

A written assessment of the boat against current market comparables, with a recommended asking price and a walk-away floor.

  2. Inventory and condition

Detailed inventory list and a recent survey if one is on file. We can commission a fresh survey through our network if needed.

  3. Asset preparation

Photography, video where appropriate, spec sheet, and a one-page summary that goes to qualified prospects.

  4. Marketing

The boat appears on our for-sale register (unless confidential), and we work the buyer-side network directly.

  5. Sale process

MOA, deposit into escrow, sea trial, survey contingencies cleared, balance, and handover.

  6. Closing and registration

We coordinate the registration transfer and any flag changes through our agents. Title delivered, transaction closed.

Triggers

When to call us in

Tender no longer matched to the programme

Mothership use has shifted; the tender that fit two years ago no longer matches the cruising or guest pattern.

Refit-or-sell decision approaching

A refit decision is on the table and selling first is one of the options. We can value both routes.

Owner changing yachts

Owner is moving on the mothership and the tender programme needs to follow. We coordinate the disposal alongside the new build.

Unsolicited offer received

An offer has come in unprompted and you want a second opinion on whether it represents the market.

Background and detail

Selling a tender or chase boat well is a different exercise from selling a yacht. The buyer pool is narrower (other superyachts, project managers, the occasional charter operator), the spec questions are sharper (lifting points, garage compatibility, classification), and the contract path runs through different legal and registration steps.

We work three engagement shapes:

  1. Central agency. Exclusive representation for an agreed term. We carry the marketing, the buyer outreach, the qualification, the sea trials, and the contract. The seller has one channel, one report, one invoice.
  2. Co-broker. We act on the buyer side or alongside an existing seller's broker. Useful when a transaction is already in motion and needs additional reach into the captain or management network.
  3. Confidential placement. Off-market sales for owners who do not want a tender on a public listing site. We handle the introduction privately, work to a shortlist of qualified buyers, and bring the transaction back into normal contracting only when both parties want to commit.

Most sale briefs land as central agency. Confidential placement suits the rarer cases where the boat is identifiable and the owner needs the transaction discreet. Co-brokerage is occasional, usually triggered by an inbound from a captain or buyer with whom we have an existing relationship.

The starting point is the contact page. We will reply with the framework we would use for your boat and the next step from there.
