About beach landers

Beach landers are built around the moment the bow opens. Shallow draft, protected propulsion, and a usable bow ramp matter more than brochure speed. Use this category to compare new-build options and pre-owned inventory with the hull geometry, lifting arrangements, and deck layout your programme needs.

What is a beach lander?
A beach lander (also called a beach landing boat or beach landing craft) is a tender designed to drive its bow onto a beach, drop a ramp or door, and let guests step off onto dry sand. It needs three features together: a bow ramp or door, shallow draft (typically 0.4 to 0.6m at the propulsion), and a forward-trim hull that can plant on sand without slamming. The mainstream is 10 to 12 metres.
When is a beach lander the right tender?
It earns its keep on Mediterranean charter with frequent beach lunches, Caribbean and Bahamas anchorage-to-anchorage cruising, and expedition programmes where the beach is the only landing point. It is the wrong second tender for a yacht that mostly visits commercial ports.
How much does a beach lander cost?
9 to 10.5m semi-custom 600,000 to 1,400,000 EUR; 10.5 to 12.5m semi-custom or custom 1,400,000 to 2,800,000 EUR; 12.5 to 14m custom 2,800,000 to 5,500,000 EUR, the largest often with a limousine-grade interior aft of the ramp deck.
What propulsion do beach landers use?
Twin waterjet is dominant, zero exposed underwater geometry, instant reverse, and it dries out cleanly, with surface-piercing drives or twin outboards on smaller hulls. A conventional shaft-drive boat is not a beach lander, and sterndrives take the grounding load so are rarely the right answer.
Who builds beach landers?
A concentrated segment: Wajer, Ribco and Sacs for RIB-format beach landers, Castoldi Jet, Hodgdon, Pascoe International, Vanquish, Goldfish, and Iguana Yachts for the specialist amphibious format. For most programmes a conventional waterjet beach lander is the right answer.
