About Forte Yachts
Forte Yachts is an Italian leisure brand owned by West Navaltech, a shipyard operating from Ameglia in the Gulf of La Spezia, Liguria. West Navaltech was co-founded in 2020 by naval engineer Livio Franchini and Fernando Moricca, and it built its reputation supplying high-performance steel and aluminium workboats - fire department vessels, electric catamarans, tugboats - from 14 to 50 metres, as well as fabricating hulls, superstructures and components for major yards in the nearby Miglio Blu district. Forte Yachts was launched as a deliberate separation of that industrial track record from a new leisure identity, keeping both strands independent but drawing on the same aluminium expertise.
The brand's stated target is the 14-to-24-metre sector, and its debut model is the Forte 47 Gran Turismo - a 14.35m open platform built from marine-grade 5083 H111 aluminium with design by Paolo Giordano and naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design. The Gran Turismo configuration carries three 600 hp Mercury Verado V12 outboards for a claimed top speed of 47 knots; an alternative Lounge Deck variant specifies twin Volvo Penta D8-800 IPS drives. Official CE-B classification covers twelve passengers. The yard positions the 47 explicitly as both a fast day cruiser and a credible megayacht tender candidate - a dual role the aluminium construction, mould-free semi-custom build process, and superyacht-grade finish quality are intended to support.
The production facility in Ameglia covers 1,300 square metres of covered build space with 1,800 square metres of hard standing. Because no moulds are used, layouts can be modified to an owner's brief without tooling changes - a practical advantage for tender-spec work where garage dimensions and mothership aesthetics drive the brief.
