About this tender

Goldfish 43 Ocean - what we know.

The 43 Ocean is the build we ask Goldfish Boat for when your programme needs a proper offshore cruiser rather than a day-runner with aspirations. At 13.2m overall on a four-stepped 22-degree deep-V hull, it carries ten passengers to CE Category B certification, covers ground at up to 67 knots depending on engine choice, and arrives with a cabin that can sleep a full family - twin forward berths, two aft berths, and a dedicated heads compartment. That combination of genuine offshore capability and practical overnight accommodation is what separates it from the shorter models in the Goldfish range.

The hull design is the starting point for any serious discussion of this boat. Goldfish credits the four-stepped 22-degree V with an optimum angle of attack, low vertical pitching, and minimum hydrodynamic drag - a package that, on paper, eliminates the planning threshold and allows the 43 Ocean to carry its 7,000 kg minimum displacement efficiently across a wide speed range. Stern drive propulsion keeps the underwater geometry clean, and with 800 litres of fuel aboard the range is usable rather than theoretical.

On deck, the layout prioritises outdoor lounge space over an enclosed saloon, which is a deliberate design choice rather than a cost saving. The rear seating area is reconfigurable; side and back supports detach and stow, and both seating sections lift to reveal storage below. The deck also provisions a cooking stove, dinner table, and fridge - items that matter when you are anchored off for the day rather than just transiting. A submersive swim platform adds practical water access at the stern.

Goldfish offers the Safari Top as an option: a black aluminium-framed canopy with a durable textile cover, with additional textile side screens available for wind and rain protection. Bridge clearance runs from 2.15m without a top to 2.75m with the Safari Top and radar rack fitted, which is worth noting if your programme involves bridges or a tight tender garage. Engine specification is confirmed through the Goldfish 3D configurator rather than fixed at the factory, so we would advise prospective buyers to review current powertrain options directly with the yard before committing to a build slot.

Highlights

Built for the work.

The four details we'd point out first to a captain who hasn't seen one on the water yet.

01

Four-stepped deep-V hull

The 43 Ocean runs a four-stepped 22-degree V bottom, which Goldfish Boat credits with reduced vertical pitching, an optimum angle of attack, and minimised hydrodynamic drag. The result is a hull that transitions cleanly through displacement and planing modes without a pronounced threshold - relevant when your itinerary mixes slow anchorage approaches with open-water transits at 50-plus knots.

02

CE Category B offshore rating

Certified to CE Category B - Offshore, the 43 Ocean is designed for significant offshore passages where conditions can include wave heights up to four metres and wind forces up to Beaufort 8. That rating gives captains and programme managers a meaningful benchmark; this is not a coastal-only platform.

03

Overnight cabin for four

A twin forward berth and two additional aft berths in the cabin allow the 43 Ocean to support overnight use without a separate chase vessel standing by. The heads compartment includes a washbasin, mirror, shower, and storage shelves. Optional fittings include a coffee maker and a mains power outlet.

04

Configurable Safari Top option

The optional Safari Top uses a black aluminium frame with a textile cover and, when combined with the radar rack, brings bridge clearance to 2.75m. Textile side screens are available as a further option, shielding the cockpit from wind and rain - a practical consideration for northern European or autumn Mediterranean programmes.

05

52-67 knot speed range

Goldfish quotes a maximum speed range of 52 to 67 knots across available engine configurations, with exact figures depending on the powertrain selected through the factory configurator. The stern drive installation and 13.2m hull length position this squarely as a fast passage boat for programmes where covering ground quickly between destinations is a programme requirement.

Questions, answered

Before you enquire.

What CE classification does the Goldfish 43 Ocean carry?
The 43 Ocean is certified to CE Category B, which covers offshore use in sea states up to approximately four metres significant wave height and wind forces up to Beaufort 8. That rating makes it a credible passage-making platform for owners running programmes in the North Sea, Atlantic approaches, or challenging Mediterranean conditions.
How many passengers can the 43 Ocean carry?
Goldfish quotes a maximum of ten passengers on the specification sheet. That figure applies under the CE Category B offshore certification. If your programme requires a different certification or flag-state approval, we would recommend verifying the figure with the yard at the point of order.
What speed can the 43 Ocean reach and what propulsion system does it use?
Goldfish quotes a maximum speed range of 52 to 67 knots, with the figure varying according to the engine package selected through the factory configurator. Propulsion is stern drive throughout the range. Exact top speed figures should be confirmed once the engine specification is finalised.
Can the 43 Ocean be used for overnight passages?
Yes. The cabin provides a twin forward berth and two additional aft berths, sleeping four in total. The heads compartment includes a washbasin, shower, mirror, and storage shelves. Optional fittings include a coffee maker and a mains power outlet, which make the boat a practical choice for short offshore passages with a full crew.
What is the fuel capacity and how does that translate to range?
Fuel capacity is 800 litres. Goldfish does not publish a range figure on the specification sheet; range will depend substantially on the engine package chosen and the cruise speed selected. We would recommend requesting a consumption curve from the yard once the powertrain is confirmed.
What is the minimum displacement and hull construction material?
The 43 Ocean has a minimum displacement of 7,000 kg and is constructed in fibreglass (GRP). The hull runs a four-stepped 22-degree V design credited by Goldfish with low hydrodynamic drag and stable offshore sea-keeping.

The yard

Goldfish

Son, Norway

Goldfish Boat AS is a privately owned Norwegian yard founded by Pål Sollie in 1991, operating from Son on the western shore of the Oslo Fjord, approximately 50 km south of Oslo. Sollie came to boat-building through offshore racing - he placed second in the 1991 World Championship - and that pedigree shapes every hull the yard produces. The original ambition was handmade racing boats; today the range spans high-performance RIBs, centre-console sportsboats, and open cruisers from roughly 7.0m to 15.0m, covering the Tender, Sport, Bullet, Ocean, Open, and utility X series.

In the superyacht-adjacent market, roughly a third of Goldfish production targets the tender and chase-boat segment, where the RIB format gives owners a platform that works equally hard as a watersports tool, a crew runabout, and a high-speed passage boat. The Bullet line - running to the 46 Bullet and 49 Bullet - is the build we'd put alongside dedicated chase programmes: stepped multi-hull geometry, a choice of inboard or outboard drivelines, and performance figures that reach the high-double-digit knot range depending on engine specification. The Ocean series, typified by the 43 Ocean, trades some top speed for a more lounge-centric deck and offshore range. Hulls are glassfibre or carbon composite; the yard backs its laminate with a ten-year hull warranty. Goldfish's largest single client is the Royal Norwegian Navy, and that dual civilian-military build discipline keeps tolerances tight across the leisure and superyacht catalogue.
