About this tender

Pirelli 47 - what we know.

The Pirelli 47 is the build we ask Sacs Tecnorib for when a programme needs a full-size maxi-RIB that carries eighteen persons under CE Category B certification without sacrificing the performance brief. At 14.75m overall - with a 13.50m homologation length - it sits in a bracket where very few outboard-powered RIBs operate at this level of finish and structural engineering. The hull is a deep-V double-step design developed by the Mannerfelt Design Team, the same group behind competition offshore racing hulls, with a 23-degree deadrise that holds its composure in a chop rather than slamming through it.

Two body variants are on the order sheet: Open and Closed. The Open version runs an extended hard top with a soft-top option; the Closed version adds glazed opening screens to create a protected secondary environment while keeping a continuous bow-to-stern walkaround passage. Four cockpit layout configurations are available across both versions, covering sunpad, single and double dinette, and a locker arrangement - so the deck plan can be matched to your specific day-use or passage programme. The L-shaped sofa configuration is exclusive to the Closed version.

On the driveline, the recommended fit is three outboards rated at 425 hp each, giving 1,275 hp in total. An alternative twin-engine configuration running two units at 600 hp is also listed. Gross weight with motors aboard is 10 tonnes, fuel capacity is 1,300 litres, and water tanks run to 250 litres - figures that support a meaningful coastal range without a support vessel. The six or eight compartment tube arrangement and 0.35-to-0.67m tube diameter speak to a build that is sized for offshore conditions rather than marina transfers.

Below decks, the saloon converts to a sleeping area with two berths, a full-height heads compartment, and a layout Sacs Tecnorib describe as a transformable living zone. We would place the Pirelli 47 alongside other serious Italian maxi-RIBs in the 14-15m class where the brief is coastal independence, eighteen-person capacity, and a platform that can keep pace with a fast mothership programme.

Highlights

Built for the work.

The four details we'd point out first to a captain who hasn't seen one on the water yet.

01

Mannerfelt double-step deep-V hull

The underwater form is a 23-degree deadrise double-step deep-V developed by the Mannerfelt Design Team, whose pedigree is in competitive offshore circuits. The geometry is intended to deliver directional stability and reduced slamming loads at speed, which matters on a hull carrying eighteen persons in coastal open-water conditions.

02

Triple outboard driveline to 1,275 hp

The recommended configuration is three outboards at 425 hp each, totalling 1,275 hp. An alternative twin-outboard fit using two 600 hp units is also listed. The outboard arrangement keeps the transom accessible and simplifies servicing on passage without the weight penalty of shaft or sterndrive installations at this displacement.

03

Open and Closed body options

Both body variants are available from the configurator. The Open version uses an extended hard top with an optional soft-top panel. The Closed version adds glazed opening screens to form a sheltered environment, while the walkaround deck layout preserves access from bow to stern in all conditions.

04

Four cockpit configurations

The cockpit can be ordered in four configurations - sunpad, double dinette, single dinette, or locker unit - across both Open and Closed versions. The L-shaped sofa layout is restricted to the Closed variant. This level of factory-stage flexibility means the aft deck plan can be set to match the owner's use case before the boat leaves the yard.

05

CE Category B with eighteen-person capacity

Certification is CE Category B, covering offshore passages in conditions up to Beaufort 8 and significant wave heights to four metres. Maximum certified capacity is eighteen persons. The 1,300-litre fuel tank and 250-litre water tank support extended coastal operations without a daily return to the mothership or a marina.

Questions, answered

Before you enquire.

What is the difference between the Open and Closed versions of the Pirelli 47?
The Open version runs an extended hard top with an optional soft-top insert. The Closed version adds glazed opening screens to create a sheltered interior environment, but retains the full walkaround deck so passage from bow to stern is uninterrupted. The L-shaped sofa cockpit configuration is exclusive to the Closed variant.
What propulsion options are available?
The recommended fit is three outboard engines at 425 hp each, totalling 1,275 hp. An alternative configuration of two outboards at 600 hp each is also listed on the manufacturer's spec sheet. All engine installations use outboard mounting; no sterndrive or shaft options are documented for this model.
How many people can the Pirelli 47 carry, and what is its CE certification category?
The Pirelli 47 is certified to CE Category B and carries a maximum of eighteen persons. Category B covers offshore conditions up to Beaufort 8 and significant wave heights to four metres, making it appropriate for coastal passages and extended day-use programmes in open water.
Who designed the hull, and what makes the double-step form relevant?
The deep-V double-step hull was developed by the Mannerfelt Design Team, a group with a background in competitive offshore powerboat racing. The two steps in the hull reduce wetted surface area at speed, which lowers resistance and improves efficiency and directional stability compared with a conventional single-deadrise form.
Does the Pirelli 47 have below-decks accommodation?
Yes. The below-decks area includes a convertible saloon that becomes a sleeping zone with two berths, a full standing-height heads compartment, and storage. It is suited to coastal cruising overnight stops rather than extended offshore passages, complementing the 250-litre fresh-water tank capacity.
What cockpit layout options are on offer?
Four aft-deck configurations are available: sunpad, double dinette, single dinette, and a locker unit. These are selectable across both Open and Closed body versions through the online configurator. The L-shaped sofa layout is an additional option restricted to the Closed version only.

Pirelli

Roncello, Italy

Pirelli Speedboats is the marine brand produced by SACS Tecnorib S.p.A., a Lombard builder operating out of Roncello, near Milan. The programme began in 2005 when Tecnorib signed a licensing agreement with Pirelli & C. to carry the Pirelli and P ZERO names onto the water; the first hull, the 770, debuted at the Pirelli Regattas in Santa Margherita Ligure in 2006. SACS Tecnorib Spa was formed in 2021 through the integration of Sacs S.r.l. and Tecnorib S.r.l., consolidating two decades of maxi-RIB development under one entity.

The range splits into two distinct product families. The Speedboats line - walkaround RIBs running from the 10.1m Pirelli 35 up to the 18.5m Pirelli 1900 flagship - targets standalone dayboat and chase-boat duties. The current 15.2m Pirelli 50, styled by the Mannerfelt Design Team, is the build we put forward when an owner's programme needs genuine offshore range and a guest-carrying brief: triple Mercury V12 outboards delivering 1,800 hp, north of 60 knots in calm water, twin cabins, a galley, and teak walkaround decks. The Tenders family runs two sub-lines: the T-Line (T45 to T75), conventional outboard tenders sized for superyacht garages, and the J-Line (J29 to J50), jet-driven tenders with a reduced-height profile and full livery customisation to match the parent vessel. An Azimut-specific J-Line edition underlines how deeply the range is embedded in the superyacht supply chain.

Over twenty years and more than 1,000 hulls delivered across thirty nationalities, the Pirelli identity - motorsport DNA translated into fibreglass and hypalon - has made SACS Tecnorib a consistent presence at Cannes and Miami. Distributed across 19 countries, the range competes directly against the upper tier of Italian and Nordic RIB builders on finish quality and speed, with the Pirelli brand carrying an authority in motorsport and design circles that few pure marine yards can replicate.
