About this tender
Vanquish 55 - what we know.
The VQ55 Outboard is the build we ask Vanquish for when the programme calls for a large-format sports yacht that can genuinely reach 65 knots rather than merely claim it. At 17.3 metres and built in advanced composite, it sits at the performance end of the Dutch yard's line-up - a stepped hull developed in the wind tunnel, outboard propulsion for minimal running-gear complexity, and enough deck volume to host a proper day-out programme without the boat feeling like a stripped-out racer.
Vanquish positions the composite models as a faster-to-deliver alternative to their fully custom aluminium builds, while holding to the same design standards and fit-out quality. The hull is moulded composite rather than hand-laid bespoke, but the deck equipment, helm presentation, and interior joinery are specified to the same brief. The result is a 19.2-tonne yacht with a 4,552-litre fuel capacity, which gives your captain meaningful range without stopping to refuel mid-programme.
Below decks, the VQ55 offers a twin-bed cabin, separate bathroom with shower and toilet, and a galley - a layout that covers a long day on the water or an overnight stay for a small crew. On deck, the open entertaining area runs the full beam, with a recessed Flexiteek table, integrated ice boxes, and wet-bar provisions. We'd put it alongside the larger Italian open sports yachts on design confidence, with the outboard drivetrain keeping the stern clean and the maintenance schedule straightforward.
